Garfield Re-2 Board reorganizes

RIFLE, CO – On November 16, 2011, Garfield Re-2 School Board met for a special session to reorganize after the November 1, 2011 election.
Elected as school board president was Chris Pearson of Rifle. Pearson was first elected to the board in 2007 and has served as board secretary. She was re-elected to the board as part of the 2011 campaign. Elected as vice president was Lee Krauth (Continued...)

Flu shot permission slip

Garfield County Public Health will be at Coal Ridge High School on Tuesday, November 15 to administer flu shots for students (with parent permission) and staff between 10:05 and 10:35 a.m.  The cost is $10 for anyone under 18 years of age, and $20 for adults. RHS to face Roosevelt in State Playoffs

Garfield Re-2 Focus Paying Off

Last year, third grade reading CSAP scores in Garfield Re-2 saw a 12-point increase compared to the year before. Across the district, the hard work of our teachers and staff is paying off in closing the achievement gaps in reading for our Hispanic students, our free and reduced lunch students, and boys.

RMS students join quest for world record

Three Rifle Middle School classes helped National Geographic Kids magazine set the Guinness World Records® title for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. RHS Band program receives donation!

Last Wednesday Ryan and Elizabeth McKenzie (pictured on the left next to the band) donated $18,000 to the RHS band program.  The money will be used to purchase a new drum-line (a group of drums that create the pulse in a marching band) and baritone saxophone that RHS desperately needs.  The current drum-line is literally held together with duct tape and every rehearsal ends with (Continued...)
